What are the options to quit smoking?

In order to help you quit smoking, there are a variety of products, known as nicotine replacement therapy, and services available.

The first and most challenging option is to quit smoking cold turkey. This is very difficult for most people, as studies indicate the average smoker will take over 30 quit attempts to finally quit smoking.

Stop smoking services are available across the UK and can offer valuable help and advice for smoking cessation.

Nicotine replacement therapy products include nicotine patches, nicotine gum, and even inhalators to inhale nicotine. These are available in limited strengths but were the go-to option to aid smokers stop tobacco use.

Vaping is a new way to quit smoking, offering a range of nicotine strengths and flavours to tailor your experience, even delivering nicotine in the same way as smoking! These factors likely contribute to why evidence indicates smokers have more success when they quit by vaping.

What's in E-Cigarettes and Vapes?

E-Cigarettes work by heating e-liquid that contains nicotine into an aerosol, or 'vapour', that can be inhaled.

E-liquid is made up of a balance of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, flavourings and nicotine.

Different e liquid flavours use different flavourings, however liquids made here in the UK - like ours at SMOKO - utilise pharmaceutical grade ingredients for the highest quality and safety, abiding by the standards set out by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

How is Vaping Less Harmful Than Smoking?

When you burn tobacco, there are many chemicals formed and released. It is known that there are over 50 carcinogens found in tobacco, and nasty chemicals like carbon monoxide and tar are formed in the combustion process. Taking these chemicals into your mouth and lungs results in the harmful effects associated with tobacco use.

When you stop smoking conventional cigarettes, your body begins to recover.

When you vape, over 99% of the vapour you exhale is water vapour, indicating how much less harmful vaping is compared with smoking. Vaping removes the combustion process, so eliminates tar and carbon monoxide from the equation.

A small amount of volatile compounds are produced in the vaping process, indicating that vaping isn't entirely risk free, but more of these compounds are produced in the higher powered vape mods that some vapers choose to use.

Coffee is strong and sweet, just lovely
