CBD MAY HELP REDUCE ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
There has be a growing awareness of mental health disorders like depression and anxiety and the negative impact it can have on an individual's overall heath and well-being.
Traditional treatments for anxiety and depression are a cocktail of pharmaceutical drugs which have serious side effects like headaches, low energy levels and drowsiness, insomnia, mood swings and may impact your sexual performance.
The WHO (World Health Organization) have found that depression affects more that 264 million around the world of all ages, making it one of the leading causes of disability.
A recent study with 400 participants in New Zealand found that the majority of patients reported significant improvements to their depression and anxiety symptoms!
Many of the studies suggest CBD can have a positive effect on the brain's receptors to
CBD MAY REDUCE AND RELIEVE CHRONIC PAIN
Millions of people around the world suffer from chronic pain. Whether it is arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines and headaches, multiple sclerosis or another type of inflammatory condition, living with chronic pain can be debilitating for the sufferer.
According to WebMD, there are between 50 to 116 million people suffering from chronic pain and the cost of chronic pain in medical expenses and lost productivity is estimated to be between $560 to $635 billon a year in the US alone!
The human body has a widely unknow system call the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) which is a network of receptors and neurotransmitters that may help to control pain, appetite, immune systems and more. Many chronic pain issues can be directly or indirectly related back to the ECS.
Many studies have found that CBD (cannabinoids) may encourage the activities between the neurotransmitters and receptors and may have the ability to help reduce inflammation in the body.
One such study saw a significant drop in inflammatory pain due to arthritis in animals after just 4 days of CBD treatments.
Another study found that CBD may have a significant reduction in chronic pain, reduction of inflammation and improvements in sleep.
CBD MAY HELP WITH NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
Some of the major progressive and degenerative disease relate to the brain's normal function. Multiple Sclerosis, epilepsy, Alzheimer's, Dementia and Parkinson's diseases are some of the most worrying facing western cultures.
There are studies being done relating to how CBD may positively effect the neurotransmitters in the brain and could help with treating neurological conditions. Much of this research is in the early stages but any positive results should be considered a great step forward in treating such debilitating diseases.
A study in the US between 2014 and 2015 involving 214 patients with severe, intractable childhood-onset, treatment resistant epilepsy found a reduction of 36.5% in monthly motor seizures when treated with CBD over a 12 week period.
A further study by researchers at California's Salk Institute have found evidence that CBD may improve the health outcomes for people with dementia by reducing inflammation, reducing oxygen build up, working as a brain stimulant and neuroprotectant.
Again, we are not suggesting CBD is the magic pill, but there seems to be some promising research relating to improvements in brain function and helping neurological disorders.
CBD MAY HELP TO REDUCE ACNE
Acne is believed to be caused by a number of factors like bacteria, genetics, inflammation or over production of the oily secretion sebum.
CBD oils are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies are currently looking at the effectiveness of CBD in the reduction of inflammation in the sebaceous glands that produce sebum.
CBD also has proven anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties as well which may help to reduce the appearance of acne by reducing infections on the skin due to pollutants and dirt build up.
Even taken orally, CBD may help to balance out stress levels and reduce inflammation, which may help with those pesky breakouts.
